Soaking in a hot spa is the best way to spend time in the winter months. However, you must be mindful of the winter maintenance to keep your spa running smoothly. Winter damage to your spa can create a costly repair. But don’t panic! We have some tips and tricks to help protect your spa during winter use.

Check your chemicals!

Whether it’s winter, spring, summer or fall, it’s very important to stay on top of your spa chemicals!. Out of balance chemicals can cause a variety of issues from scale to equipment damage.

Make sure your pump is running 24/7

Making sure your circulation pump is running 24/7 helps prevent freezing within the spa plumbing. As long as water is continuously moving, it helps prevent freezing to occur.

Placing the cover

With our spas we design we always order a custom spa cover to ensure it fits properly on the spa. It’s important when placing the cover back on the spa after use that it is positioned correctly to retain the heat and prevent the winter elements from entering your spa.

Heater Temperature

When not actively using the spa you can turn down the temperature on the heater to conserve electricity. We usually suggest around 70 degrees and the spa can quickly be reheated up to a desired temperature in around 1 hour when you want to use it again.
