Let’s be honest, starting a pool project can be intimidating if you don’t know the process/time it takes. We estimate a project typically takes 3 – 5 months to finish, depending on a variety of things including: features included, size of the project, and weather during construction. This year we’ve especially seen longer delivery times and backorders, due to Covid-19. We try our best to prepare and plan, but it’s important our clients understand the process of pool construction/time frame so that they can be prepared.

Construction Documents / Prep

After meeting with our designer(s) and finalizing the pool design, we get to work on the construction documents, permits, miss utility mark outs and details needed for our guys to start digging.

Breaking Ground

We always start by laying out the pool using paint lines. After the layout is completed, the guys are ready to start setting grades, digging the hole, tying rebar, starting plumbing installation, and shooting the concrete for the shell of the pool. We always start with the pool and work outwards.

Hardscapes/Features

All the hardscape decking(pavers, stone, etc…), coping, tile, grading, drainage, and outdoor living features are installed after the concrete shell of the pool is done.

Fencing/Landscaping/Site Clean Up

The next step is installing any landscaping, fine grading for installation or repair of lawn areas, And fence installation. This step helps us tie the whole project together, put on finishing touches, and get things cleaned up before plaster in the pool.

Pool Equipment and Plaster

At the end of the project the pool equipment is installed on the equipment pad. An electrician wires up all the equipment and we clean out the pool so it is ready for plaster. The plaster application always comes at the end of the project so construction dust and debris do not get in the pool while the plaster cures. Within a few hours of the pool getting its coat of plaster, the water is turned on and the pool begins to fill with water. The water is part of the curing process for the plaster. Once the pool is full of water the pump is turned on and the water circulation is started.
